Is SEO Really That Important

Here is a great little story about Google and how people have relied on them through building and ranking websites based on SEO and backlinks.

1. Make money and forget about Google. There are so many ways to make money on the Internet that have nothing to do with Google that people who do not want to worry about search engine optimization and getting websites ranked should look into.

What am I talking about?

How about just writing articles and getting paid for your work. You can go to little sites like iWriter and make a thousand dollars a month part-time.

If you want a step in the big leagues check out Angela Boothe and all the training that she provides. She teaches ways that you can earn a six-figure incomes as a writer.

How about just taking little paid surveys every day? Cash Crate has several daily surveys that pay $.80 each. Take those and earn over $50 a month.

Then join some other survey companies and do the same thing. Pretty soon you’re supplementing your income to the tune of a few hundred dollars a month part-time and you could care less about Google.

2. Website traffic. The reason that so much emphasis is put on SEO and Google is because when you rank for a high traffic keyword, or for multiple longtail keyword phrases, you’re going to get a lot of traffic.

This is traffic that comes in every day as long a continue to rank for that keyword phrase. You don’t have to go do additional things to generate traffic such as article marketing, forum marketing, video marketing, email marketing, blogging, and so on.

This is why SEO experts still offer services to help you get your sites ranked. This is why Internet marketers continue to work hard at keeping their own sites ranked.

Chris Rempel is someone I follow because he cuts through the crap and gets to the point. Sometimes the point is longer as in this article questioning whether it is still possible to make money with the help of SEO

I will summarize one point that I found really interesting. Chris says he can rank a site very quickly even for highly competitive keyword phrases.

He also says that you should ride that ranking and make as much money as possible while you can. Do not worry about building a large content site that’s going to be there for a long period of time.

Why?

Because Google is always readjusting the sites that rank, and regardless of the quality you put into your site, you will not maintain your rankings. This is somewhat discouraging, but if he’s correct, and I suspect he is, you know how the game is played and can adjust the way you make money accordingly.
